Istanbul Gelisim University Turkish and Foreign Language Application and Research Center (IGÜTÖMER) started its studies in the field of "Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language in 2014 and is trying to meet an important need in this field with foreign language courses. Within the framework of national and international goals, Istanbul Gelişim University IGUTÖMER has made important strides in the field of Turkish teaching. Our center is primarily preferred by students from Turkey and abroad who want to learn Turkish. Our institution is in an effort to help everyone who wants to learn Turkish with its educational activities in this field, which is new for our country.
IGUTÖMER makes an intense effort to use new materials in education in accordance with the scientific developments in the current education-training field in order to meet the needs of those who want to learn Turkish. As a result of qualified education and training, it is on its way to become an exemplary center that produces knowledge at national and international level, continuously develops, contributes to societies, and is taken as an example with its students and the knowledge and materials it produces. All efforts of IGUTÖMER are to use financial and physical resources and human resources in the most effective way as a more dynamic, balanced, qualified service producing institution, and to bring Turkish to its deserved place among the world languages. Within the framework of these issues, what is essential for IGUTÖMER is to apply the accepted language teaching methods in the teaching of Turkish to foreigners by taking advantage of the opportunities offered by technology and thus to maintain the total quality and success achieved in teaching.
IGUTÖMER, with the awareness that language is a means of communication with its academic and administrative staff, is aware of the need for our country to closely follow the innovations in the world as a requirement of globalization, to communicate with other countries in technological, economic and cultural terms, and to be more active in international platforms. IGUTÖMER will contribute to our young people to develop their self-expression skills, to have a sense of empathy and appreciation towards other cultures, to see cultural differences and to increase their language skills, to have career opportunities and to express their own thoughts. These courses, which are aimed at our university students and other trainees, have been made continuous in line with the demands of the students on weekdays. As IGUTÖMER, we aim to raise individuals with high self-confidence and to bring the Turkish language and culture to the place they deserve.
